Airway Management Basic & Advanced
Description
Managing a patients airway is the most vital element of life support. This airway management course has been designed as a continuous professional development course or as an additional subject to medical professionals.
This course has two elements enabling basic first aiders and medical professionals to attend. Day 1 will be focusing on basic airway management and day 2 will be advanced. Only advanced practitioners can complete day 2. These include ALS providers, RGN, paramedics, offshore medics etc.

Syllabus
The airway management course will be comprehensive and both theoretical and practical. The topics include:
Day 1
Anatomy and Physiology
Airway assessment
Opening the airway
Removing foreign objects
Suction and postural drainage
Airway adjuncts (OPA, Nasopharyngeal)
Bag Valve Mask
Oxygen and pulse oximetry
Day 2
Intubation equipment and procedure
Laryngeal Masks
Managing difficult airways
Emergency airway
Certification
Students will need to demonstrate practical competencies for each day. After successful completion a certificate will be awarded for 3 years.
Pre-Course Requirements
Students must have a minimum of a First Aid certificate prior to commencing this course on Day 1. Day 2 will require additional proof.
Location
At our training site in Stokesley, North Yorkshire which is in North East England.
