Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
Description
Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are now becoming more common throughout a range of workplaces.
A casualty’s survival rate will dramatically decrease at a rate of 10% per minute if an AED is not available.
This very practical Automated External Defibrillator course will allow suitably qualified First Aid personnel to use the AED competently and with confidence.
Not only does this course deal with the use of an AED but also revisits some basic First Aid skills, including resuscitation.
Duration
A 4-hour course consisting of theory and practical work.
Syllabus
A range of subjects are covered during this AED course including:
Assessment of the situation
Chain of Survival
Dealing with unconsciousness
Resuscitation (CPR)
Heart Attacks
AED - Maintenance
AED - Safety and use
Scenario training
Certification
There is a formal practical assessments covering resuscitation and use of the AED. This qualification is valid for 1 year.

There are no pre course requirements for this course
Location
At our training site in Stokesley, North Yorkshire which is in North East England.
