Description

This HSE Offshore Medic Refresher course meets all the requirements of the HSE guidance. Students must present a valid and in-date certificate for Offshore Medic by an approved provider before completing this course.

As a modern company we have introduced a blended style of learning across this course. Not only do we forward you reading materials and DVD's we have incorporated some distance learning as well as placements to a local A&E for 2 days. We are all aware of skill decay within this environment; through listening to our students we recognise the need for additional practical learning which is why we have focused the refresher programme on hands on experience as well as a practical style of teaching which many of our competitors do not offer.

Syllabus

The programmer consists of the following subjects:

Acute emergencies and surgical emergencies
Minor ailments
Shock and Bleeding
Unconscious Patient
Hyperbaric Medicine
Drugs and Equipment
Record Keeping
Occupational Health updates
Medical Services and Communications
Hypo and Hyperthermia
Immersion
Patient assessment skills including trauma
ALS

Certification

After completing the assessment day a HSE valid Certificate will be awarded for 3 years

Pre-Course Requirements

Current valid HSE Offshore Medic certificate which is in date.

Location

Courses are run at our training centre which is in Stokesley, which is in the North East of England. This is ideally located for students from across the Northern and Yorkshire region.
