Pre-hospital Paediatric Life Support
Description
This course is accredited and governed by the ALSG (Advanced Life Support Group). It is a very intense 2 day programme designed to equip the learner with extensive skills and knowledge to manage and treat the critically ill child.
Treating children can often be daughnting and a frightening experience for any professional. With the latest knowledge and proficient skills in the immediate care setting with aid you effectively and competently manage almost any emergency.

Syllabus
The content of this pre-hospital paediatric life support course includes the following topics:
Recognition of a seriously ill child
Airway Management
BLS and ALS
Vascular Access, immobilisation (spinal, collar and helmet)
The death of a child
Making life easier and preparing for a child
Defibrillation and cardiac arrest
Anaphylaxis and fluid resuscitation
Child and law
Pain management and intoxication
Dealing with major incidents and terrorism
Certification
Following several scenarios and a MCQ the ALSG will award a certificate
