Venepuncture and Peripheral IV Cannulation
Description
This Venepuncture and peripheral IV Cannulation course will equip the students with the skills and knowledge required to gain competence in IV access and arterial blood gas sampling. The course is predominantly practical ensuring the candidates gain as much expose to the techniques as possible. This is a popular course among all health care workers from care homes to NHS hospitals.

Syllabus
The Venepuncture and peripheral IV Cannulation course covers the following topics:
Legal and professional issues
Anatomy and physiology of the venous system
Vein selection
Equipment overview
Demonstrations of techniques from our clinicians
Practical workshops
Complications of Venepuncture and IV access
Certification
Although there is no examination the tutors will monitor each student to ensure competency. A certificate will be awarded. It is advisable each candidate returns to their work place to gain clinical supervision.

At our training site in Stokesley, North Yorkshire which is in North East England.
